A hand-blown glass sculpture of a mouse smoking a cigarette.
Roughly 6 inches long and 3 inches tall.
This mouse was based on COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, research where mice were exposed to cigarette smoke twice daily for 14 weeks to simulate a human lifetime of smoking. Cigarette smoking is one of the major risk factors for developing COPD, which is now the third leading cause of mortality worldwide, with approximately 16.4 million people in the US diagnosed.
